Distances

   

5 km – the distance can be completed by running, walking, or Nordic walking. Walkers and Nordic walkers start at the end of the start corridor.  

Sunset Run is conducted in accordance with the competition rules of the Estonian Athletics Association and this guide.  

 

Age Groups

 

Anyone who is sufficiently trained to complete the chosen distance can participate. Participation in Sunset Run is at one's own risk (for minors, at the responsibility of a parent).

 

Sunset Run is open to everyone. Separate categories for men and women in the following age groups:

U18 – born in 2008 and later

MN – born in 1986-2007

MN 40 – born in 1976-1985

MN 50 – born in 1966-1975

MN 60 – born in 1956-1965

MN 70 – born in 1956 and earlier

Registration and Entry Fees

 

You can register for Sunset Run online at iseteenindus.triatloniakadeemia.ee until August 20, 2025 23:59. On-site registration for Sunset Run and distribution of materials will take place on August 21st from 10:00 to 20:00 and on the day of the race, August 22nd, 2025, from 10:00 to 17:00 at Unibet Arena.

On-site registration and distribution of materials is also available on the day of the race, August 22, 2024, from 18:30 to 20:15 at the Sunset Run start area at Stroomi beach.

Re-registration is possible for an additional fee in the self-service environment (iseteenindus.triatloniakadeemia.ee) until August 20, 2025, at 23:59. The re-registration fee is €10.

 

By registering and paying the entry fee, the participant:

• agrees to this guide and the organizer's terms and conditions;  

• agrees that their personal data will be used in accordance with the law and regulations;

• confirms that they are sufficiently trained and healthy to participate in the sports event.

Only the participant registered under a specific start number is allowed to compete with that number. The organizer reserves the right to refuse registration if they deem it appropriate. The organizer has the right to disqualify a participant if they do not comply with the points set out in the Sunset Run guide. In the event of cancellation due to reasons beyond the control of the organizers (force majeure) and the participant's withdrawal, the entry fee will not be refunded.

The participant's name will be added to the start list after the entry fee has been paid. The entry fee can be paid via a bank link after completing the registration form. The time of payment (not the time of registration) is the basis for calculating the entry fee. Confirmation of registration is the name in the list of registered participants, which can be found at the event’s website. By registering, the participant (or parent/guardian in the case of a minor) confirms that they are responsible for their (or their child's) health condition and agrees that the organizer is not responsible for any health damage or personal property damage or loss. By registering for the event, the participant confirms their consent to the personal data processing principles of MTÜ Triatloniakadeemia.

 

Competition Referee

 

All protests related to Sunset Run will be resolved by the organizers on an ongoing basis. Issues not covered in the guide will be resolved by the organizing committee on an ongoing basis.

 

Race Course

 

Sunset Run starts at 20:30 in Stroomi Beach Park. The race takes place on the light traffic roads of Stroomi Beach Park, the Rocca al Mare promenade and around Unibet Arena. In the starting corridor, participants are divided into three groups – runners, Nordic walkers, and walkers. For safety reasons, participants must comply with traffic laws, follow traffic signs, and the instructions of traffic controllers and course marshals. The start is located in Stroomi Beach Park and the finish is in front of Unibet Arena.

 

 

Catering

 

Water and sports drinks will be offered to participants at the finish line. Reusable cups are used in the catering area at Sunset Run. The cups must be returned to the separately marked collection points.

 

 

 

Timing

 

lectronic timing is used at Sunset Run, which can only be guaranteed with a correctly attached timing chip from start to finish. Timing is done with a chip attached to the back of the start number. Removing the chip and folding the number is strictly prohibited.

The number must be attached to the chest and must be visible throughout the competition from start to finish. When crossing the start and finish lines, the competitor must not cover the number with their hands, otherwise the result may not be recorded.

 

 

Time Limits

 

The Sunset Run finish line closes at 21:45. Participants who exceed the time limit are disqualified.

 

 

Awards

 

The top three men and women in each age group will be awarded prizes at Sunset Run.

A prize draw will be held for all participants. Diplomas (available for electronic download) are for all finishers.

To receive a prize, participation at the draw is mandatory. Prizes will not be issued later.

The results will be published at www.triatloniakadeemia.ee.

 

 

Medical Service

 

The race organizer ensures the presence of a medical point in the competition center throughout the competition.   If you notice people in distress on the course, please notify the medical staff with identification marks on the course, the people involved in the organization, or the emergency number 112.

 

 

Baggage Storage

 

Participants have the opportunity to leave their outerwear bag in the starting area, which will be transported to the finish area.

 

 

Lost and Found Items

 

Found items are collected at the competition info desk at Unibet Arena on competition day. After the competition, please send inquiries about lost and found items to e-mail: tallinn@ironman.com The organizer stores found items for 7 days after the end of the competition.  

 

 

Parking and Traffic on Competition Days

 

Participants and spectators can park near the Rocca al Mare center. It is possible to travel between Unibet Arena and Stroomi Beach Park by transport organized by the organizer or by bike/electric scooter etc. Compliance with the instructions of the police, judges, and traffic controllers is mandatory both when parking and during the competition.

 

Organizer's Rights

 

The organizers have the right to use photos and videos taken by the organizers at the competition. The organizer has the right to make changes to the guide. All changes to the competition guide will be announced on the competition website: www.triatloniakadeemia.ee.
